Blood Dungeon came out on Aug 25, 2026, so there is no guide scene to copy from yet. What does exist is Steam’s own data: 45 unlocks, the exact condition attached to each one, and the share of players worldwide who have managed it. That last number is the only difficulty ranking on this page that anybody can audit. Steam achievements Read Aug 26, 2026 UTC
The name is the reward. The description is the task.
This trips up everyone reading the achievement list cold. Leggy reads “Kill 50 spiders”, and Leggy is a bunkmate — so it looks like the table has slipped a row. It has not. The achievement is named after what you get, and its text is what you do to get it. The arenas work the same way: Pit is awarded for beating the first boss in Catacombs, because clearing Catacombs is what opens the Pit.
One thing to watch for: a handful of conditions use a name the other way round. Lucky Chests asks you to reach level 15 as Baby — there, Baby is a prerequisite you are assumed to already hold, not the prize. The rule of thumb that survives both cases: the title is always what you receive; a name inside the description is always something you need first. The planner above uses exactly that rule to decide what to grey out.
That reading is a claim, so here is the test we run on every build. If the name really is the reward, then for any unlock B that names unlock A in its condition, B has to be rarer than A — you cannot have done B without first having A. If the naming were coincidence, roughly half of those pairs should run the wrong way.
16 of 16 such pairs currently run in the expected direction.
Nothing is currently breaking it. This block recomputes itself from the live percentages, so if a future patch breaks the pattern, this page will say so before we notice.
The gear that nothing on the list grants you
Some equipment gets named in the conditions but never appears as an unlock of its own. Nothing in Steam’s data says how you obtain these, which most likely means you simply have them — but we are not going to state that as fact.
- Magnumno unlock grants it
Named in “Damage at least 700 in one shot with Magnum”.
- Machinegunno unlock grants it
Named in “Fire 25 bullets with Machinegun before reloading” and “Upgrade Machinegun to max level”.
- Axeno unlock grants it
Named in “Kill 10 enemies with one Axe”.
- Lasergranted by an unlock
Named in “Damage 10 enemies with one Laser beam” — and handed to you by Laser at 52.2%.
- Double Deaglesgranted by an unlock
Named in “5 Double Deagles kills in a row” — and handed to you by Double Deagles at 72.5%.
- Zombie Ringno unlock grants it
Named in “Have 10 zombies at once with Zombie Ring”.
- Bone Shopno unlock grants it
Named in “Buy 10 items at the Bone Shop”.
- Dailyno unlock grants it
Named in “Play the Daily”.
6 of the 8 above have no unlock behind them. The practical read: if a condition mentions one of those and you have no idea what it means, that is a thing to go look for in a run, not a thing to grind toward on this list.
One chain runs through the whole weapon tree
Most unlocks stand alone. One does not — it is a straight line, each step requiring the weapon the previous step handed you, and the drop-off between links is the clearest difficulty curve anywhere in this data.
- 1Double Deagles — 72.5% have itFire 25 bullets with Machinegun before reloading
- 2Laser — 52.2% have it5 Double Deagles kills in a row
- 3Shield — 36.5% have itDamage 10 enemies with one Laser beam
Read top to bottom, that is 36.0 percentage points of attrition across 2 steps. Nobody wrote that curve down; it falls out of the fact that each step names the one before it.
Only two bosses have names anywhere
Six arenas, each with a first boss and a final boss — Boiler is the only one Steam ever mentions a second boss in. Across all 45 achievement texts, exactly 2 bosses are called by name:
- Wyrm
“Defeat Wyrm in under 30 seconds” — unlocks Leech, held by 64.0% of players.
- Bone Snake
“Defeat Bone Snake in under 30 seconds” — unlocks Slow Enemies, held by 65.0% of players.
Both of those speed-kills are held by more players than have reached Corridor (54.1%), which places both bosses early — you meet them before the run gets long. That is as far as the data goes. It says nothing about their attack patterns, and neither will we.
What players report, and how long they had played
Everything above comes from Valve’s own fields. This section does not — it is players talking, which is a weaker kind of evidence, so it is fenced off and dated. Sample: the 100 most recent English Steam reviews, read Aug 27, 2026 UTC. player-reported
Put that next to the unlock rates and you get the single most useful thing on this page: half of these reviewers have 3h 35m or more in the game, and the final-arena unlocks are still sitting in low single digits. If you are hours in and nowhere near the end, you are where most people are.
“this is a fun game. it's quite similar to mega bonk if you're into that. not super deep but just a good time. my only criticism is that there is no invulnerability or easing back in after selecting an upgrade. this is more of a problem than in other survivor…”
“Game is a very fun take on the Survivor genre. My only concern at this point is the amount of content in the game. Playing for 3 hours, then seeing 34% completion was a bit of a shock for this kind of game”
“amazing, jungle and idm inspired, music. i poured 6+ hours into the demo. its fun. pretty hard, even after unlocking a bunch of stuff.”
We quote by review ID and re-read each one from Steam on every refresh, so if somebody edits or deletes their review, the quote disappears from here instead of quietly outliving them.
Known issues, and what Messhof has already fixed
Messhof has posted 3 patch announcements since launch, the first two within hours of it. Below is what each one claims, copied word for word — the phrasing is his, including the part where the same name turns up in two of them. Matched to symptoms instead of dates on the troubleshooting page.
Hotfix v2026083001
Aug 30, 2026 UTC- leaderboards crash the game offline
- delay taking screenshots
- artillery suckhole perk crash
- save file backup system
- lowered vram, better window mode switching
- press back button to close pause menu
hotfix
Aug 26, 2026 UTC- fixed some memory leaks that could eventually crash the game
- fixed some bugs with Powder Keg and Revivalist
- leaderboard placement number no longer gets cut off
- get your boneshop powers back after finishing a daily run
- saves more often
We do not write “fixed” as a verdict. What we can show is what the developer says he changed and when; whether the crash is gone on your machine is something no data we have can tell you.
What we cannot tell you
A tips page that only lists what it knows is doing half the job. These are the questions we get asked and cannot answer from any source we trust:
- Boss attack patterns. Steam publishes none, and we have not beaten enough of them to write it ourselves.
- Arena layouts and what actually spawns where.
- The five bunkmates nobody has named in public. We know there are nine; we can prove four.
- Where the Zombie Ring comes from — an unlock requires it, nothing grants it.
- Which build is strongest. There is no public damage data, and "strongest" written on day three is a guess wearing a tie.
- How many arenas exist beyond the six the achievements name.
Why these Blood Dungeon tips are checkable
- What should I go for first?
- Something from the 11 unlocks that more than half of all players already hold — led by Pit at 80.3%. If most people got there, the game is probably handing it to you on the way.
- Does a low percentage mean it is hard?
- Not on its own. Late-game unlocks are rare partly because most of the player base has not got there yet. Where the percentage does mean difficulty is inside a chain — both ends were available to the same people, so the gap is skill, not progress.
- Do these tips work in the demo?
- The naming pattern does — it is how the achievement list is written, not a property of the paid build. The global percentages, though, are the full game’s. See the Steam and demo page for what the demo is.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- Steam’s public global achievement stats for app 2431080, re-read on every build — last Aug 26, 2026 UTC. Nothing on this page was typed in by hand, which is also why we cannot quietly fix it when it looks bad.
Where to go next
The same 45 numbers, but cut by rarity tier instead of by what blocks what.
Four names we can prove, five we refuse to invent — and why that gap exists.
