Blood Dungeon crashes and lost saves, in Messhof’s own words

Pick a topic and you get every indexed line that mentions it, quoted whole, with the version and date it came from. The index was read from Steam on August 31, 2026 UTC.

What the line is about

Indexed lines mentioning crash: leaderboards while offline

  • leaderboards crash the game offline
    he listed it under “fixed:”Hotfix v2026083001 · Aug 30, 2026 UTCthe post

That is the whole quote, not a summary of it. Messhof does not say what caused any of these or what the symptom looked like, so neither do we — if a line looks like it might be your problem, the report channels are further down.

This page indexes 12 lines from 3 patch announcements Messhof posted on Steam for Blood Dungeon after its Aug 25, 2026 release, read on August 31, 2026 UTC. Anything he has posted since is not here yet. Steam announcements

Which post covers what

The 12 indexed lines are not spread evenly. Hotfix v2026083001, posted Aug 30, 2026 UTC, accounts for 6 of the 10 topics above on its own — it is also the only one of the three that splits its list into fixed: and added: headings.

What each line says is above, matched to its topic. The full log keeps them in date order instead, including the Revivalist line that turns up in two posts.

The save file lines, read strictly

Two lines touch saves, and they are different kinds of statement:

“save file backup system”
under “added:”

Hotfix v2026083001, Aug 30, 2026 UTC · the post. Four words under an added: heading. The post does not say what the system does, where it writes, or what happens to a save lost before it.

“saves more often”
no heading

hotfix, Aug 26, 2026 UTC · the post. Three words, in a list with no fixed: or added: heading at all. How often “more often” is, is not stated.

Both quotes are complete — there is no surrounding paragraph we trimmed. Anything past them about save behaviour would be us guessing, and the address for asking him is below.

Words the indexed notes never use

We searched the 12 indexed lines for the words below. These appear in none of them:

  • linux
  • proton
  • steam deck
  • controller
  • audio
  • ultrawide
  • multiplayer
  • mac

That is a word search over these posts and nothing more. It does not mean those things work, that they are broken, or that Messhof has never discussed them somewhere this page does not index — only that the patch lines do not contain the word.

Where he asks for reports

From the launch announcement, quoted in full:

If you are having any technical issues, the best place to reach out would be our discord but I'll also keep an eye on the Steam forum. Anything else, email me at blooddungeon@messhof.com

Blood Dungeon is OUT · Aug 25, 2026 UTC · the post

Two of the three are addresses we can hand you: the Steam discussions board for app 2431080 and blooddungeon@messhof.com. The Discord he mentions has no link in that post and we do not have one we can cite, so we are not printing an invite code.

If you do write to him, the version string carries its own date, so “still happening on Hotfix v2026083001” tells him something that “still happening” does not.

Questions

What do the patch notes say about crashes?
Three lines mention crashing: leaderboards offline and the artillery suckhole perk, both under fixed: on Aug 30, 2026 UTC (the post), and memory leaks that “could eventually crash the game” on 26 Aug (the post). What caused any of them is not in either one.
Can a lost save be recovered?
The indexed notes do not answer this. They record that a backup system was added on Aug 30, 2026 UTC (the post) and that the game saves more often since 26 Aug (the post); neither says anything about restoring an older save.
How current is this page?
The patch lines were read from Steam on August 31, 2026 UTC, and that date is printed above rather than left implied. The topic index is built from the same data, so a quote that stops matching gets flagged at the top of the page — but a post made after that date will not appear until the data is refreshed.
Is this the official support page?
No. It republishes Messhof’s Steam announcements with dates and links attached. The addresses in his own quote above are the ones to use.
This is an unofficial fan-made information hub. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Messhof, Valve, or Steam.

Every quote on this page is copied whole from a Steam announcement by Messhof and carries that post’s date and a link. Patch data read August 31, 2026 UTC (2026-08-31).
